Who we are?
Wicked Barrel was founded in 2017 by Radu and Andreea Andries with the idea of producing dark, complex beers with a high degree of alcohol. The first beer was made in the Ground Zero factory and was called The Black Pot.
In January 2018, ratebeer.com named Wicked Barrel the 2nd best brewery in the world in 2017 out of a total of +6400.All our labels and the design related stuff is done by Stefan Andries – you can check out his work here.
The Brewery
The idea of having our own brewery has been in our heads since we launched our first beer, The Black Pot, but we really started thinking about it in the beginning of 2018.
Living in a small town near the Ceahlau mountain means fresh air, great views, many things to do (especially in summer) but there is not much social life. So, this was our first question: build a brewery in the area through which we make the decision to stay here or move to a big city where you have many more opportunities, give up on this idea / dream and continue life? You already know the answer… 😊
